Curses and sweary words. If I had seen that back in 2002 I would have got myself a new Cragspider. I went and cut of her chelicera thinking they were a bit of sprue on my original model and regretted since. I thought she was the best of that set.

I was opening some old boxes the other day, and found some long-lost painted minis from long ago! So I decided to rebase them, touch them up, and let them back on the gaming table!

Three minis

One of the earliest figures I ever painted was this knight in armor, holding a halberd. I have no idea who made it. I was proud of my work at first, but as I became better as a painter, I looked at the old figure and thought: "I wonder how it would look if I set it on fire?"

Knight

Then I thought, "That looks cool. Add some highlights and blood, and it would be great in some dungeon!"

Knight

And so here he is.

Knight

The only change I've made is to mount him on a new base.

Knight

After all, it was a really boring figure, originally. Now it's a gruesome figure…

This figure has always puzzled me:

Chef

Why is he armed and equipped with kitchenware? Is he defending the castle's kitchen? Is he a part-time chef, part-time adventurer?

So, of course, I originally painted him as a steel golem. (I have no memory why.)

Chef

Still not sure what to do with him. Anyone recognize this figure?

Again, one of my first figures. I remember being quite happy with my drybrushing of the fur, and of how the bamboo blowpipe turned out. Now, I have updated him with a new base.

Monkey with blowpipe

I suppose he's a monkey of the more intelligent sort, since he carries a bag with him. I have no idea where I got him from.

Years later, someone brought this figure back on the market and I bought enough for a small force. They are around here somewhere, patiently waiting to be painted…
