I've been dreaming of doing some "last winter of the war" gaming lately, and Combatpainter Painting Studios was kind enough to accept the commission to paint some figures for me.
This particular quartet is the German Riflemen in Greatcoats set from Artizan Designs, part of their Germans in Greatcoats series. This is the second time combatpainter has painted these particular models for me - you can see the original, less wintry, set here.
This figure looks to be moving forward purposefully. It looks like the painter is capturing the look of a winter cover tied to the helmet.
There are a few shiny spots still - I will probably give them a shot of Dullcote when the weather warms up here.
For this figure, the artist has gone for the "painted white" look for the helmet.
The painting service based the figures on steel disks which I provided to the artist. I like using the steel, as it makes the figures easier to transport and store. Unfortunately, the disks are no longer available commercially.
The base treatment allows these figures to be used for scenarios in any "cold time of the year," not just the dead of winter.
The fee was $7 USD per figure (as part of a larger order, and no shipping charge).
