This is one of those projects that I keep percolating along on the back burner. In my last report, I came up with the command vehicle.
Since then, I've had some fun coming up with a campaign concept: a resource world divided between three corporations, each with its own 'hired guns' mercenaries. Two corporations operate in the highlands, and one corporation in the lowlands between the highlands. Then, an offworld event causes the lowland corporation to abruptly withdraw its forces – and it's a race for the remaining corporations to carve up the lowland territories!
I've imagined the lowlands as being watery, lots of mangrove-ish woods, mists and clouds, scattered colonial outposts and large robot-managed plantations, a few major roads and lots of narrow seas. I created a campaign map, and plotted some 'strategic moves' so I could determine an initial scenario.
So I've decided to paint up some light hovers, as my initial moves have the Wildcats (formerly known as The Good Guys) using their hovers to rapidly advance using the waterways.
I've used the same painting scheme and basing as described in my previous article, with 1" square wooden bases from Litko.
Savannah Masters
The light scouting vehicles are Savannah Masters from Iron Wind Metals' BattleTech line. Anything this small has to be cool…
I posted Dirtside stats previously.
Fast Hover Tank
This is the plastic model from Fortress Figures, currently out of production.
