I want to know why toy companies can't seem to produce any sort of comprehensive range in a consistent scale. I grew up playing with the "Micro Machine" military models (which were found at most retailers at the time), but even as a child the lack of a consistent scale bothered me considerably. Infantry shouldn't stand nearly as tall as a Tiger IE!

These 1:144 model aircraft and vehicles are great! Now we just need more variety of them, and infantry in a proper scale! Considering the popularity of FOW, it would seem (to me) that a comprehensive range of 1:144 scale models would do very well (at that price, why not?). A range of 1:100 (15mm) would do even better! Even if they charge $5 USD a tank, you're still getting off cheaper (and faster, 'cause they are prepainted!) than buying from Battlefront or any other 15mm WWII manufacturer. I'd probably still buy the unpainted models (because I enjoy the painting!), but I am not blind to the business opportunity that decently painted and cheap(!) model soldiers and vehicles present to the wargaming community.

The latest models to appear at the major retailers belong to the Dogfight II series.

Dogfight set

According to the manufacturer:

As popularity grows in the 1:144 scale aircraft, another set of WWII Dogfighters have been introduced into the product line-up. This exciting new set features the debut of an all -new German aircraft, the Focke-Wulf Fw-190A-8. The nimble German fighter ships with the F6F-3/5 Hellcat painted in RAF markings complete with D-Day invasion stripes. As with all Dogfight series aircraft, each paint scheme is exclusively offered as a pair.

It doesn't show in the photos, but the underbelly tank is crooked.

Taped to the bottom of the display base is a plastic bag containing a small plastic piece. No instructions are provided. Does it fit in the hole on the upper fuselage, right after the canopy? Or in the slot on the underside, right after the display base attachment point?
