Just a quick note today that Staples - a major office supply store in the U.S. - is offering a new type of document binding: coverbinding.
The advantage of coverbinding is that the document gets both binding and front-and-back covers in one operation. The front cover is transparent, while the back cover and spine are black plastic.
To try out the new binding, I brought in a copy of TFP Games' A Leader of Men, which I had printed out from PDF. This is a hefty rulebook - 116 pages.
Here's the bound rulebook - front (above) and back (below).
The individual pages are glued into the spine, making this a book-type binding. The pages seem securely glued (I couldn't pull them loose), although at the ends they are loose - probably so that the edges of the document aren't glue-coated. And then the front page fell out (and won't re-attach), so perhaps the binding isn't that good...
The coverbinding cost $2.49 USD for a 3/8th-inch booklet.
