I like these sets as well. Purchased several as well as the extension sets. Modern roads can criss cross the game table if needed.

Modern Roads cover

Since I'm in need of some roads for my Team Yankee project, I decided to try out the Modern Roads set from Battlefront.

Modern Roads

When you take off the shrinkwrap, the cover slides off to reveal foam packaging.

Modern Roads

Under the first layer of foam are the road sections. The curve sections are individually wrapped; the straight sections are unwrapped.

Modern Roads

There are four straight and two curved sections in each set, about a foot long. They are made of a material described as 'flexible resin' – the sections are flexible, heavy, and have a dry texture (not rubbery). No odor.

Modern Roads

As you can see in my Team Yankee layout, an Abrams tank fits nicely on the road.

Modern Roads

The two curved sections allow for a nice S-curve.

Modern Roads

The road sections do not physically link to each other, but the weight of the sections keeps them pretty much in place.

Modern Roads

The road sections are flexible, but are not flexible enough to conform to the hills I have. That might change if they were gently warmed…

Modern Roads

The six sections in the set provide enough road to run from one end of a 6' tabletop to the other end.
