I'm in the process of rebasing some of my oldest WWII models.

Schwimmwagens

I acquired the original collection of unpainted models from someone at the Koplow Dice booth at GenCon, who had his own side-sale going on. This was maybe 30 or more years ago. I was told the models were out of production, and this was my one and only chance to acquire a WWII Italian army. grin

Schwimmwagens

These two vehicles are not out of production. They are from Heroics & Ros and are still listed on their website. Not Italian, but perhaps Italian command would have used them?

When I originally painted them up, I based them on square steel bases. However, as the years have gone by, I've realized that thin steel bases are hard to pick up and have sharp, pointy corners. Therefore, I'm rebasing onto 3mm LITKO wooden bases with FlexSteel underneath.

I had misplaced my usual container of sand, so I flocked these bases with a coarse sand. Probably a mistake, as it doesn't match the other models I've already done. But it looks nice, even though out of scale…

More to Come!
