It's fairly unusual for a gamer to be able to walk into a mass-market retailer - such as Wal-Mart - and find something he can put on the wargaming table. However, that has all changed since the 1:144 scale pre-painted products from 21st Century Toys have gained wider distribution.

For instance, here is the Classic Aircraft Nakajima KI-84 Hayate:

When you slice through the tape holding the package shut, you can then open the flap, then open two hangar-style doors, and remove the package's contents:

Gamers, of course, aren't content to leave the aircraft on its display stand - but don't try pulling it off! Instead, flip the base over...

...and in the center, you'll see a screw head at the bottom of a long hole.

Look inside the hole...

Loose the screw, then pop the plane off the base!
