I believe acetone only works on ABS (which has higher temp requirements, usually requires an enclosed printing structure to eliminate drafts and keep the temps uniform inside, and must have a heated printbed).

And I believe these minis are printed using PLA.

I previously mentioned on the What I Did This Week board that I was painting up Lizardfolk in small batches, and someone asked for pictures, so here you go!

Lizardfolk

These are the 3D models available from Fat Dragon Games, as printed on my low-end 3Dprinter, as previously featured in this Workbench article.

Lizardfolk

Some of these figures use 3Dprinted bases from my previous Workbench article. Later, I discovered that I could merge the Lizardfolk model and base model in my 3Dprinter software and print them as a single model, which was convenient. So the most recent models have the bases printed as part of the model.

Lizardfolk

I want to be careful to stress that the quality of the final model depends on your 3Dprinter and the settings you use.

Lizardfolk

I find it convenient to 3Dprint them in batches of six figures each, and then paint them and flock them. There's no limit to how many figures I can print…

I'd love to do a future Showcase with pictures of how others have painted theirs up! If you've got some pictures to share, please contact me.
