Stuff It! (In a Box)

These are excellent containers for storage… I also use them. I use a label maker and print it out to stick on all my containers. I also have found out the baseball card boxes that Bobgnar mentioned are really awesome for bigger storage items like all my terrain pieces (trees, jungle, buildings) I usually take out the dividers though as you can pack much more in without them. And the great thing about them is they come in all different sizes. I mostly use the Plano plastic containers for most of my figures… putting a magnetic strip down each of the 4 sections inside (most of my troops are on metal stands) and the best thing is that you can pile 5 containers in a a regular banker's box (Staples) and then easily carry them in or pile them on each other (on a dolly) to carry your stuff into the convention for setting up your game table.
