Impulse control would be good when the unpainted lead and terrain approaches a cubic metre or so!! Still keep buying stuff though!

I really need to control my impulses! These models are needed for a project way down the line, but somehow they jumped onto my workbench and got themselves painted! grin

I'm eventually going to give the Iron Cow rules a try, and I've done a fair bit of daydreaming about a campaign involving a ONESS (British) 'chavauchee' through Neo-Soviet territory.

So when I stumbled across these models, and said, 'I have NeoSov models? When did I buy those???' it was inevitable that I would paint them up to figure out a NeoSov paint scheme.

What I've got here are eight Kunitsa APC 6mm models from Brigade Models. They are supplied with both missile turrets and chaingun turrets, so I equipped the models half and half, and happily threw the surplus turrets in my bits box.

The painting technique was simple: after they were primed, they were painted Soviet green, highlighted with a lighter green, then washed with green ink.

Treads were painted dark gray. I added a black ink wash to the running gear. Headlights got a touch of silver; tail lights got a touch of red.

For some unknown reason, Brigade loves to put 'windows' on their armored vehicles. Or at least, they look like windows. I painted them gray, maybe they're hatches now. grin

I based them on 1" square wooden bases from Litko, with FlexSteel (also from Litko) on the bottom for storage purposes. I would have painted the base edges the traditional red for Soviets, but I'm already using that color for another force, so blue they are!

I might add some Soviet red stars at some point, as they always add coolness. But I don't think I have any in my decals drawer…

I don't know when I'll get back to working on NeoSovs (because I have other projects on a higher priority!), but at least I know how I'll paint them now.
