Get Some! Fantasy Warfare

Get Some! Fantasy Warfare is about getting your models out and playing an enjoyable wargame for a couple of hours with your buddies. It is not about WAAC (Winning at all Costs) but about designing an army that fits your collection and play style as well as the background for the Universe you are playing in. Tactics and Command should play the pivotal roles in the battel as well as a little bit of Luck and not pimped out units. Armies should be a mix of Melee, Ranged and Magical/Monsterous units. Each should check some of the power of the others in the rock, paper, scissors kind of way, which is similar to actual warfare.

Get Some! Fantasy Campaign: War of the Dead: Act 1 The Gathering Storm

Act 1 The Gathering Storm
Refugees flee across the land. Tales of woe and death follow. The residents of horseshoe valley fled for their lives in the middle of the night while being chased by the dead. Yes, the dead have come to life and they walk the land. The fleeing residents are exhausted from running for their lives day and night with very littel rest. Some sought sanctuary with the wild elves of the forests and were shot down with whistling arrows from unseen archers for their troubles.

The Elves have so far maintained a vigilant watch and slaughter any undead that enter their forests from lofty vantage points high in the tree-top canopy. Some refugees fled down the river in boats, rafts and some just floated along on doors, luggage, dead animals anything that floated. The once flourishing human town of Riverhead has become a harbor of corpses and all who fled there were consumed by the dead.

General Wheeler who is in charge of the Blankenship Militia expeditionary force and the victor at Ash Town has decided to make for Rotten Crossing and assault the city. General Wheeler reports flames have been seen in the forests to the south and suspects the Wild Elves are fighting a guerilla war from the trees against the undead. How effective this defensive ditch will work against the undead none can say. The Dwarves meanwhile rush forces to attempt to close the pass once again.

Get Some! Fantasy Campaign: War of the Lions: Act 1 Gravest of Insults

Act 1: Gravest of Insults
The Leonids have been expanding around the peninsula in the last few decades and have established fortifications along trade routes and near protected harbors. Warprides have been harrassing caravans between the Dwarven Holds in the Rock Serpent Mountains and some of the free cities like New Wayland and Tiresia. Without the supplies earned in trade from these free ports the Dwarven Holds would lose an important source of food and lumber.

Emissaries have been sent by King Thargold Hardgrin of StoneGate to the commander of forces within Bloodsea Castle to begin talks to correct the harrassing of dwarven trade delegations on a free road to Market Point. He received his emissaries' heads in a large basket a few weeks later. This greivous affront is obviously meant to enrage and goad the stubborn and honor-bound dwarves into a fight.

Get Some! Fantasy Campaign: War of the Lions: Act 2 The Wrath of Dwarves

Act 2: The Wrath of Dwarves
The Leonids have failed in their siege of KinGrave Hold thanks to the harrowing forced march of Thane Beldin Graybeard and his five hundred dwarven warriors. Once Lord Goldenmane, of the Dawning Sun warpride, was informed of a large dwarven force marching upon his vulnerable rear he ordered a general withdrawl from KinGrave Hold, vowing to return and finish what he started. During the height of the Battle for KinGrave Hold, King Snori Halfhelm sent his fastest messengers to the other dwarven holds to warn them of an impending attack and to send reinforcements if they could spare any. King Thargold Hardgrin, of StoneGate Hold, sent a hundred of his best warriors via the Underway that runs between mountains.

King Thargold would not be sitting out the battles with the treacherous Leonids. One of the emissaries that the commander of Bloodsea Castle had executed had been a distant relation to the King and a dwarf would see blood spilled as payment for such an affront to his families honor. King Thargold immediately ordered that the clans assemble on the field of war outside the massive stone gate of the hold. Five thousand warriors answered his call to war and the dwarves marched upon Bloodsea Castle.
