1. What is the Points cost to award single-use Shock Missiles ? 2. Why would I downgrade Shieldwall troops to Raw, when I can have a Fyrd Dregs Mob for the same points cost and it comes with 2 shock missiles (or 1 if already counted as Raw) ? Shouldn't the downgraded Fyrd (which have some training) be more effective/resilient than a classic 1930's Universal pitchfork-wielding mob ? You could consider that a mob could only use the missile defensively (i.e. when charged) and lacks the co-ordination to use in attack ? 3. Does the extra hit card flank bonus continue to take effect until the enemy turns to face you in its own activation ? 4. In determining whether a Defender can strike back, what do the words "behind its flank" mean on Page 48 ? Does it mean that a unit that attacks from the actual flank (for example the 4th Cohort in Figure XII if it were facing correctly) will receive Strikeback, but a unit that charged from behind but was considered as a flank attack (i.e. the 6th Cohort)would not. That is how I am reading it, just wanted to check. Many thanks, Mark Barker West Sussex |

Hi Mark, 1. One additional point, but only when specified in a list. 2. Fyrd Dregs- they don't have shock missiles (assuming you are looking at the English Kingdoms list, that is? Not sure which list you mean). They only hit on an 8, too. 3. No if they turn it doesn't count as a flank any more. 4. Attacks from the five boxes (one either side or three behind) count as flank/rear attacks, there's no hitting back against these. Best, Simon |

Simon, Thanks – got all that. On Point 3, if you hit them from the flank more than once in your activation (i.e. before they can turn), does each of your attacks get the flank bonus. Some rules only allow a single flank attack before the enemy gets an "auto-rotate" to face the incoming attack. I read your rules as that not being the case (which is fine), indeed they could pull an ace when they do try to activate to turn and be stuck with being flanked for another series of attacks if I read all this correctly. Thanks, Mark |

Hi Mark, you can hit them as many times as you can activate to charge, and yes, it's possible they might fail to turn in their turn. :-) |
