In SAGA, how important is it for buildings to have playable interiors? I haven't played the game yet, but I am building some scenery in preparation.

Thank you for any and all guidance!

Yes.

there are scenarios that require you to fight in buildings, and technically the rules allow moving into and out, as well as fighting into and out, of buildings.

however, I've played several games of SAGA where we ruled that the building was not accessible, and really was just to break up the board.

You can easily put the minis next to the building in contact with it. We play it that way at home and they cannot be confused as being next to the building as the rules don't allow you to be within 2" unless you are attacking it

There is never any fighting done inside the building. There are troops inside defending and there are troops outside attacking.

Large buildings should hold 12 castings. Small should hold 8 maximum.

After a bit of playing with the art files, I have realized that making the roof removeable and having an interior will make my buildings sturdier. It will also be a slightly more complicated build, which allows me more work time per building (which is good, as I have nothing but time on my hands right now.) So I am going to do the interiors, even if they never get used :)
