I'm just south of Newburgh, NY … is there a place where I can get in a game of Saga? I haven't had luck at the local stores yet.

I'm just south of Poughkeepsie, no Saga locally that I know of. I know I've seen posts from Nu Brand Gaming in Brooklyn about Saga before. I'd also check the NJ Gamers Facebook page, there are a bunch of gamers in the northern NJ area on the border.

I live in Yorktown and would be happy to play SAGA anytime and anywhere .

I've not played Saga but do have a small collection of Vikings in 28mm. Generally I play Thursday nights in Nanuet at the Hobbytown.

Will you be there this Thursday ?
We can play a SAGA game .

saltflats192905 Dec 2016 5:37 a.m. PST

I'm just getting settled in in Rockland county (close to Nanuet) and also interested in meeting up with local gamers. Historicals, Fantasy, X wing, RPGs, I have/play a little bit of everything.

@grtbrt I will. I work until 7 so can be there around 7:30 if that works for you. You can PM me for more details or post here.

grtbrt05 Dec 2016 7:36 a.m. PST

Sounds great – I will be there this Thursday at 730. I will bring a 6pt Saga Army . Most likely Anglo-Saxons .

RovingHobbyist05 Dec 2016 4:00 p.m. PST

@FusilierDan & @grtbrt

I can't make it this Thursday, but would you guys be available next Thursday night? (15 DEC) I've got 6 points of Anglo-Danes that would like to see some action.

If you PM me your email addresses, I can start a little distribution list for local Saga players.

@saltflats -- What historicals do you play?

saltflats192905 Dec 2016 5:40 p.m. PST

Include me on your email list and I will try to make it. Stg3g AT aol DOT com

How late do you usualy play at Hobbytown?

@grtbrt I'll be there but do you have what is need for two players? I'm looking on the GB website and it looks like there are some boards and markers needed.

As I said I have not played Saga and should have added I don't have the rules. It looks like I could come up with a 4 point Viking or Anglo-Danes. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

@RovingHobbyist the 15th should also work for me but I'll know better next Tuesday and PM sent

grtbrt07 Dec 2016 8:02 a.m. PST

I do have enough for a number of warbands .
I will bring all the items needed. You bring your 4 pts and I will have extras to fill it out .

I can make it on the 15th as well .

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP07 Dec 2016 7:37 p.m. PST

Ok, sounds good. See you there.

@saltflats1929 we usually finish around 10:00 but there's others playing well after that, mostly board games.

Dan and I have been playing together for about ten years, in a cheerful and amazingly non-competitive fashion (having close on a century in the hobby between us).

We do a mixture of commercial games (Frostgrave quite often, Chain of Command occasionally, recently The men Who Would Be Kings) and our own in development rules (lately Flint and Feather and A Gentleman's War.)

I've played Saga once, in one of those 'we don't know the rules' games where we look everything up twice, and assume half of it was wrong. Our usual Viking era game is Battle-Troll, which is a smaller level man-to-man combat game.

grtbrt08 Dec 2016 3:23 p.m. PST

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it tonight . My apologies for the short notice .
I will be there next Thursday -or if anyone wants to play prior to that please contact me .

@LeeBrilleaux – Are you in the Hudson Valley? Want to get in on some Saga gaming?

By the way, I'm a huge Chain of Command fan. Would love to play that or try out Frostgrave.

So I just checked with HobbyTown Nanuet and there isn't a game night this Thursday 12/15. Star Wars is being released.

So they do have a game night on Wednesday 12/14. I can make this at 7:30pm the site says they stay until 10:00pm. Does this work for anyone? If not we'll push it off until the next week.

I'll pm or email this also.
