We had a fun game at Lard Island this week with the Picts attacking the British kingdom of Alt Clut. If I knew how to put pictures on here I would, but failing that you can read all about it on Lard Island News here: toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=1108 |

Ecxellent, what was the force composition for the Northerners? |

The Picts start their campaign with four Groups of six raiders which are a new troop type, one Group of four missiles, one Group of four skirmishers and one Group of four skirmish cavalry. The have one Lord, one Noble and a Champion. The northern British have the option of fielding cavalry but for this battle they elected to stick to infantry as they felt that the river would hamper cavalry charges. The Irish and Scots start their campaigns with a different force composition and then all three contingents get very different reinforcements as they progress. Rich |

Gaaaah! My Picts are all ready for battle, when is the new expansion scheduled for release? I've been painting my face blue every day in anticipation! |

The release date really depends on pulling all of thwe various threads together. Coral us producing some great maps of Ireland and modern Scotland which all takes time, we have also comissioned the first pack of our Dux Britanniarum figure range which will be four Pictish commanders. We'll be using the Gripping Beast range for all of our starter armies but their Scots and Picts are the same figures, so we wanted to add some variety. We actually have the army details all sorted, albeit some minor tweaks may be made, and we are playtesting these to death at present. What I can tell you is that the raiders are tremendous fun to play with, and the different career paths really capture the flavour of the period. Cheers Rich P.S. In a nutshell, Christmas. |
