I bought an Anglo-Saxon Saga Warband: (http://www.grippingbeast.com/product.php?ItemID=268441504) But i want to play with them the TFL game Dux Britanniarum. I donīt have the rulebook yet. How do I base the miniatures? The leader on an hexbase? And the rest? Regards Desertfox |

To quote from the book "We do not specify any particular basing convention, again whatever is pleasing to your eye is quite acceptable, however if you are gaming against a regular opponent it does help if you use roughly the same size bases. For 28mm figures we use circular bases around 3/4", or 20mm, in diameter." I just base mine on pennies, and then use warbases for movement trays. link |

Any scheme with the figures single-based will work. It may be helpful to have the nobles on differently sized or shaped bases to make them easy to see. |

How many nobles must I have with this Saga warband pack? Thanks a lot so far!! |

A Saxon force has a lord/atheling and 2 subordinate Adeligs, so 3 nobles in total. You'll also have a champion to accompany your lord. Good luck! |

I think a 20mm round or square base will give you the option of using the figures for a mass-combat game like Warhammer, while still allowing you to use the figures for "skirmish" type games. If I am doung it from scratch, I will probably base the figures on 20mm square bases and then make or puy a few movement trays for use with Dux Brit. You can also use the trays for games like Impetus and Dux Bellorum too. |

I have my figures mounted on 25mm (1") rounds, and then use two types of movement trays from Warbases (UK) (http://www.warbases.co.uk/#/25mm-trays/4566306753) I use the "2p" sized 6-figure trays for Mass Formation units, and then the 25mm 3x2 sized trays for Shield Wall units. The bases are high quality and very reasonably priced, including postage, from the UK to the US where I live. Oh, I also picked up some casualty dials from them as well, after being inspired by how "Guitar Hero Andy" has done his Dux B units -- great stuff!! link |
