Has anyone used the Viking ammendments in the TFL 2012 Christmas special with Dux Britanniarum? How well does it work? |

My first game of Dux was the Viking variant. Messed up the rules a bit but it was a lot of fun. Main thing to remember, especially if you bought the cards, Is that Saxons = Vikings, and that British = Saxons. It wasn't clear to me how peasant rabble are different from levy other than the inability to form a shieldwall. I guess that is what makes them "brittle"? Speaking of which, it is nice having both sides able to form shieldwalls. On berserkers, I am still forming an opinion. |

The ability to ignore the first kill on a shieldwall (and the advantage for shieldwalls uphill) makes a huge difference to levy survivability. |
