I have several 2000 point warmaster ancient armies and I was thinking of getting the Hail Caesar ruleset as I keep hearing good things about these rules. Can units stay as based for warmaster and be used in Hail Caesar? Thanks for you input.

Yes. It is not a problem at all.

We fudged DBA based-armies while trying the set out and it worked fine.

You should have no trouble adapting your WMA armies for use with Hail Caesar. Just ensure that all of your standard units have roughly the same frontage, and all will be well.

Yes.

Yes, we've played lots and lots and HC games using WM armies.

We went for 6 stands to make a HC unit, with a frontage of 12cm. And then used 2/3rds distances in the rules. We have lots of figures so were happy with making 1 unit out of 2.

It would work just as well with 2 or 4 stands making a unit.

The only change we made was to rebase the "shock cavalry" we had so every thing was on a common frontage.
