Just as a piece of information the book is finally at the printers, and you can view some page spreads here link Preorder information here link The War & Conquest part of the Scarab Forum and our yahoo group contain other details about the game including some design notes and background to the game here link The book is casebound (hardback) 176 pages and full colour. Rather than use diagrams, the book contains lots of pictures of model soldiers and captions to explain the rules. Once the book starts shipping in the New Year, we will be formally announcing on TMP and then updating the website with army lists, battle reports and other relevant material Kind regards Rob Broom scarabminiatures.com warandconquest.co.uk |

I might as well get a copy – seems like the right thing to do since I already have WAB 2.0 & Hail Caesar. Best, Dean |

I read the intro on the link. If my opponent goes second on this turn, and first on the next turn, it sounds like I could spend a lot of time thumb twiddling except for making armour saves. Is it more involoved than that for the passive player ? Phil |

Many thanks folks. Looking forward to getting the book out there and the games (and gaming days) underway! Kreoseus2 – there are combats to fight, when both sides roll dice, and of course, planning ahead for what you will do when your round of play occurs. And the roll for strategic advantage is definitely not a passive part of the game, its great fun, especially when its important :) Should you have strategic advantage, and you choose to go second, you still dictate certain parts of the game (order of combat and order of morale tests,) So plenty to do. Finally, rounds of play don't actually take that long, unless you give your opponent lots of helpful "guidence" kind regards Rob scarabminiatures.com warandconquest.co.uk |

Hi Rob thanks for clearing that up. The intro give the impression of a more passive "down" turn. Are the mechanics D6 based ? And will there be army lists in the main rulebook ? Thanks Phil |

Somebody please convince me, why we need another 180 page rule book. I already have "WAB", "COE" and "HC", plus supplements. |

Thanks very much. The book should be back with us next week, I hope to collect some copies on Friday. Please note there is a special miniature for direct orders, and it is also available to retailers. It will also be available separately to buy. Phil (kreoseus2) yes the game D6 based. There are some profiles and basic army building information in the book. Army lists (starting in a basic format with some popular armies) will be on the website and these will simply be expanded as we move along so people can get playing and offer comments and feedback. Supporting publications adding more detail and gaming material will come later. Kind regards Rob scarabminiatures.com warandconquest.co.uk |
