A textbook Italian Wars French army, containing the mandatory Mikes Models Swiss Pike Kiel takes on three opponents in one day in the Southern League round held in Southampton.

See all the usual stuff, with the added bonus this time of a new commander for the French Army being deployed and using his extensive linguistic skills to explain his success – or lack of it perhaps..?

Bonnet de douche!

Does anyone know what make of figures are in the Spanish colunella (kneeling, pike forward) are,in the first battle report? I have 80 or so of that make, but the bags they were in arent marked. The command I have for them are definately Swiss, and I intend to use them as such.

Excellent! I am looking forward to reading through these.

I think they might be Navwar, or whatever one of their 2 ranges is called…

in fact, looking now, yes they are

Thanks! They have to be Roundway, then.Naismith doesnt have Swiss(as per the site) and the Roundway list figures in those same poses. No pics, though.

Thinking back, I was chatting to my opponent about them, so that is the range – I have some Swiss halberdiers from the same range myself that I really like – there are some clearer pics of them in the 15mm figure photo gallery on my site if that helps

Madaxeman your website and reports are among the best!

Based on you halberdiers, mine are definately roundway,as they are the exact style of the sculpting. It just kind of bugged me not knowing what make they are.Whats funny is I bought them about 10 years ago in Weirton,West Virginia. Some guy had started a miniatures shop in the corner of a convenience store,so aisle 6 was miniatures, aisle 5 was the bread. You could do your miniature shopping and grocery shopping all in one go.Thanks!

Truly great reports; I thoroughly enjoyed each of them, even if your Swiss trounced my namesake's Colunellas!

As always, Madaxeman, I really enjoy your reports.
