The second and third expansions for Commands & Colors Ancients have been combined. In one box you get another Roman army, a Barbarian army, a couple new units, lots of new scenarios and more. link |

Thanks, just ordered the game and its first four expansions last week when I saw they were all back in stock, everything but Spartans and Epic. Spartans aren't really my thing and I thought I'd start with baby steps before Epic. |

But don't stop before you get to Epic! It is a brilliant game, and can still be played one against one in a very manageable time frame. We rarely play the basic game these days, but Epic is a favourite. Mollinary |

Thanks Mollinary – from what I can tell, to go Epic, I need the Epic expansion and another hard-mounted map, correct (since exp. 2/3 doesn't have one any more)? |

True, I am afraid. And I think the Epic expansion is out of print at present. However, you might be able to get a pack of the Epic cards from GMT. The board can be bought separately for 20$, and the magnificent web site CCAncients has the ruleset and all the scenarios on line. Mollinary |

Except the CCAncients and CCNapoleonics sites have that funny Blacklisted firewall thing going on and are right impossible to get on. |

Outlaw, I get that foolishness from time to time too |

Thanks Mollinary, I'm not sure about Epic ' status, it says OOP but on its page it's for sale. I'll look at it again once I get through snickering this lot. |

Ugh, stupid autocorrect on my phone, that's "stickering"! Though snickering is pretty funny. |

You're welcome. I have all the expansions, and now game them using 6mm figures and Kallistra Hexon Terrain. That means my units have an 80mm frontage and I can pack 64 figures into a pike phalanx, and forty eight in three ranks for more normal Heavy Infantry. I have made unit movement trays that accommodate my figures on magnetic paper, and the edges of the tray identify the army and troop type. I am so mad, I even have casualty bases to replace lost ones! My four bases for an infantry unit are one base 80x15mm, one base 40x15mm, two bases 20x15mm. So when a unit is down to its last base it still has half to two thirds its original figures on it. Hope you enjoy the system as much as I have. Mollinary |
