Hello TMP! So with all the great battle mats available now, does anyone know if there has been a good Waterway feature mat created? I was thinking 12 inches of water, 2 inches of beach and another 2 inches of grass. If there hasn't been on created yet, do the current mat manufacturers do custom orders? I know some people will respond with "well create your own!" But I'm really looking for a professionally done mat that I can reproduce and distribute to multiple players in our group. What do you all think? Thanks!

I make them for different game systems….

What is the total Mat size you are looking for? For what sort of game?

12" of water sounds like a D-Day or naval landing type of game.

Check out Tiny Wargames, they make river and road sections in cloth and vinyl, and do custom work

System is DBM. Do you have a website or contact information Dervel? The waterway feature in DBM is 6" plus 2"xD6, 2" beach, and I wanted 2" of grass for blending to the table.

A thought occurred to me. I could do a 22x48" mat with 18" water, 2" beach, 2" grass. Do the mat in cloth and fold under what ever excess I don't get with the D6 throw.

Maverick,
no website as of yet… I am not a professional mat painter, but I have made and sold a few over the last few years.

If I remember right the waterway's for DBM are only on the flanks of the battlefield?

So they would be on the 4' side…

My suggestion is to get a basic green mat if you want grass for the overall battlefield… Then get some light blue 18" long felt rectangles from Hobby Lobby… cut various wavy shoreline patterns out and just make sure the ends can be connected (same width) in several ways. Coat them in Modge Podge, then paint them as desired.

This way you can make a sort of Railroad track style of edging for your 4' board. how far they set onto the board is up to you.
