I wrote a quick review of Dux Bellorum, but did not properly cross post it to ancients or historical wargaming as I intended, so please find it under medieval product reviews.

I've pre-ordered a copy from Amazon, and am really looking forward to getting it!

I am confused between
Dux Bellorum and Dux Britanniarum.

Are these both games about King Arthur milieu?

Dave Crowell24 Jul 2012 1:19 p.m. PST

Yes, both are games about Arthurian Britain.

Dux Bellorum is Dan Mersey's set, published by Osprey. It uses element basing.

Dux Brittanniarum is from Too Fat Lardies, it uses single based figures.

Both have good write ups on the creator's blogs. Being a big fan of the period I have both on order. I think the names are a case of parallel evolution and coincidental publishing. Not a conspiracy to confuse wargamers.
