The clue is in the second part of the title "Bellorum" is a word combination of "Bellow" and "Rum" and if you've ever heard drunken ducks before, as have I, you'd know exactly what the author meant! JJ |

What I will add to Ferb's review is that they do away with the book keeping of Glutter of Ravens, Dan's previous rules, and also clarify movement and a few other issues. I also lke the fact that Dan has include rules for a number of colorful elements even though there is at best dubious evidence for them playing a significant role in battle. To whit: bards, monks and holy men, war dogs, cattle stampedes, and chariots, as well as the ever popular fanatics. All of these are nicely set off as optional rules. They have me thinking about how to model a staple of Arthurian stories the giant. Nice to have a game in the format of an Osprey Man-at-Arms book instead of a vast, expensive, hard cover tome. |
