I want to go for a small table, so rather than using extra 6mm or 10mm figures on the standard 80mm base, I was thinking of going for a small base size, say 40 to 60mm. If I did that, can anyone comment how small a table I could go to for a 'typical' battle? (do the rules themselves comment on this option?). thanks in anticipation. |

Actually, the standard base width is 40mm for 15mm or smaller miniatures, 60mm for 20mm or larger. There is no standard 80mm base. As far as table size goes, the rulebook suggests 2x2 feet for 15mm and 4x3 feet for larger miniatures. LT |

Actually the rules do state 80 mm bases for 6 and 10 mm figures as a suggestion. They are all suggestions. As for the board sides the book indicates 60 cm x 60 cm for 15 mm so that makes it 15 base widths. So if you are using 80 mm bases then that would be 4' x 4'. Dale |

It's not the figure size that moves things is DB. It's base size. Use that to figure things out. |

I asked Dan this question and went with 60mm bases so that I could play on a 3x3 table. |

It is a matter of square battle ground really. So 40mm bases would, as brass1 says, 2X2 foot. 60mm would be 3x3 foot as Morrigan says. 80mm would be 4x4 foot as Dale says. You could go ultra cheap and do 20mm bases on a 1x1 foot table. Great travel size game.  |

I bought the PDF version, great if you have access to a duplex printer & comb binder. The guys in our club who play it in 10mm use a 6' x 4' table to give extra width on the flanks. The use 40mm bases paired up to give an 8omm base width. |

I decided to do the Kindle download. It looks very nice on an android device because of the colour but probably will be a better read in the evening on the Kindle e-ink device. I take it I need to open a kindle account on my laptop so that I can print out charts and things from there. |

Answered my own question, the kindle version will not print anything, you need the PDF version from Osprey themselves to do that. |
