I've bought the rules and I'm excited to play, but I don't want to get too infatuated if this is a system that nobody has heard of or nobody likes.

One of my club mates wants to run us thru a game in a week or so.

I play it, love it when I can get in a game. It is played occasionally at my club and i painted up a few armies for it in 10mm, need to complete a few more. I think it would make for a nice evening mini campaign. It is a ruleset designed for a very specific nice period although I think it can be tweaked for other periods. My armies are Sub-Roman British, Saxons and Irish. I find that the Shieldwall armies win about half of the battles against warrior armies.

Great rules that give a good fast and furious game.

Have made slight "house" amendments but the rules can be adapted to ancients and WOTR.

Painting up more troops at the moment.

If you like the rules why bother what other people think. As long as there are two of you, you've got a game!

We play occasionally. We love the game but have the attention span of goldfish so we play every game occasionally. DB is a great fun game with plenty of room for role-playing as the commanders, and the armies are small enough that you gotta collect them all.

I've played against Prince Alberts Revenge and have played a few solo games. They play well and are a lot of fun.

JC,

are you going to the Muster in a couple of weeks? I have painted up some figures, but have not played. I am interested in doing so, and I can bring my figures to the Muster.

It is one of my favorite games but can't ever find others who have an interest in it. It is a great game that has been sadly overlooked.

Jefritrout, I AM going to the Muster. Let's meet up. I'll bring Dux and some appropriate models.

Great game, but we too only get it out occasionally.

It got a good write up in Slingshot
