Just finished lovely unit of Castaway Arts 28mm Babylonians. They represent bowmen from Mari at the Time of king Hammurabi of Babylon.
The Impetus basing allow complete finish in an evening using Army painter ink with splash of highlights. I forgot how nice the figures are and happy with characterful features when painted up.
Using Impetus style allows the 9 figures I had to create a unit. These have sitting in painting box for years sadly.

Very nice looking unit, Impetus has a lot going for it!

Impressive as always Colin.
The Impetus or 1/2 size bases (2 x 6cm by best depth) are the way to go especially as the newer rules don't necessary ask for a head count per base.
Like the period and also how you base.
Cheers happy gaming

Well done again Colin, those large bases are most impressive. I was thinking, add a 40mm wide base and you have a standard Hail Caesar unit. Works for me.

Thanks for comments guys. For storage I have reduced depth of some units to 40 or 50mm but to be honest it just does not offer the diorama opportunities of 60mm deep.

So to heck with storage and hello to nicer based armies. Plus Impetus allows smaller armies and oppertunity to collect niche periods with small number of units. Plus the army still looks good IMHO.
Next up will be converted Gutians and king Saul with guard if something else does not distract. These will of course be Impetus style.
Blog up to 71 followers. Very surprising and motivation as very amateur compared to many I look at.
