The latest in my ongoing test of fast play rules on a small board. It has been a while since the last replay, but real life does that sometimes. It should get faster with the next few. After that I'm going to summarise where I am at and where to next. I enjoyed the Basic Impetus game, but it isn't quite suited to a 2'x'2 board.

So, of all the rules, and given the same basic scenario and forces, which did you enjoy the most?

Shaun Travers25 Sep 2010 3:13 p.m. PST

Warrior Kings (which became Warrior Heroes and about to be re-released as Rally round the King) was the one I enjoyed the most.
Fantasy Rules! was the next one.
I was most surprised by Irregular Miniature Ancient Rules as they were fun and fast.

Is Rally round the King a fantasy set?

Shaun Travers27 Sep 2010 1:44 p.m. PST

Warrior Kings was an ancients set. It became Warrior Heroes by adding in some fantasy elements to Warrior Kings. Taking out the fantasy parts, the game was *exactly* the same as Warrior Kings. So Rally Round the King is the updated Warrior Heroes, taking out the fantasy gives you an updated Warrior Kings.
