I guess this answered my question in my last post. Cool battle report. How do you like Impetus? Thanks, John |

The game was Basic Impetus (I will be having the for the full game by next week). I like it.While we are still slow at timing ,and I still forget some things (like ZOC) once you get the hang of the hits-wound system the game moves fast. Units in BI are definetly less manouverable then single units in DBA thus I will have to say that DBA gives a faster game. On the other hand BI gives a more varied game thanks to the ability of most units to hurt other units. It definetly is a game that stresses reserves and flank attacks which I think forces players( or should) to think out how they will commit to battle. But I am still too green in it to make judgments and the only otehr ancients game I have is DBA in which I am green as well. But I would stress to people giving it a try to paly at least three battles before making a decision as it took me some time to get the fresh-disordered sequence of unit states and the hits to wounds mechanism. |

I really liked the fact that the rules punished me for not taking into consideration my opponents superior cavalry arm. |
