Version 1.4 of Basic Impetus has been updated by players in Portugal and is available here: link There is also an updated playsheet for the rules here: link Additional rules for evasion and shieldwall have been added and there are revisions to various modifiers to bring them into line with the Full Impetus rules. All in all its a most commendable effort and makes Basic Impetus, for me, the obvious choice. |

I'm getting "Dropbox error 404" for both links |

I suspect the file was yanked because the author did not agree to the changes. BI was meant to be an introduction to the full system and many of the changes proposed made BI closer to it. |

I went to the website, and apparently, the author is reviewing the matter and will probably be posting an official 1.5 version of Basic Impetus at some point. |

Lorenzo, the rules author, is in discussion with the guy who produced the revised version with a view to putting out an authorised revised version in due course. If, like me, you can't wait you can get a copy from me of the update for personal use at kennclark@btinternet.com |

I liked the addition of Evading; but did not care for adding Second Moves. -- Jeff

Me neither. So we just miss that one out, It keeps the game closer to the original Basic Impetus. Better still make U for 28mm only one and a half times the U for 15mm (not double) |

1ngram, Well I have a wide table anyway, so I "upped" my U to inches (which makes things lots easier for us) . . . but that is just here at my house. One of the things that I like is that you can change things as you choose for your in-house play. Of course there does need to be a "standard" for tournament play . . . but I haven't chosen to play in tourneys for many years now, so not a problem for me . . . not that there is anything wrong with those who DO choose to participate in tournament play; I just find that I prefer a more relaxed gaming experience. By the way, I "edited" the 1.5 rules to take out what I didn't care for (and to clean up the graphic examples) so that we have a "clean" set for our home use. I have had the full version of "Ipetus" for years, but prefer the simpler "Basic Impetus" experience. -- Jeff

The author of the original rules intends putting out an authorised revised version after consulting with the guy who put out the recent improved version. You can get the latter from me in the interim at kennclark@btinternet.com |

We are working at the official 1.5 version. Not a BI with Impetus elements but and improved version of BI (and yes, with evasion). The new set will include also revised lists. Be patient:-) Lorenzo |
