Basic Impetus is going to be rewritten as a full, independent game this year I think.

The site is down for maintenance and upgrades. No ETA has been given on its return but I would hope it would be sooner than later.

I wonder how the full on version of Baroque is coming along?

Brother Richard03 Jun 2015 9:19 a.m. PST

Baroque? is this a black powder version of Impetus – cool if it is.

Zippee03 Jun 2015 9:27 a.m. PST

Nope,
Impetus Baroque is 1560-1695 so more Pike & Shotte than Blackpowder. It's was due for release as a full rule set at Salute – it's slipped clearly.

Imeptus Le Roi Soleil 1660-1740 and Impetus Grandeur 1798-1815 are Blackpowder versions though. They are both amendments to Impetus not full rule sets (yet).

I see that a note from "dadiepiombo" on the Forum says the following:

"I plan to put offline D&P website for some days. It needs to be updated according to the new cookies policy (though actually it has no tracking cookies) and I can take the occasion to make a general refresh.

This means that attached pdf or betas wil not be available for some time.
In case of need just, just send me a pm."

I hope that helps explain why the website is down.

There is also a Napoleonics variant of Impetus, which plays very well. Each base represents a brigade, and skirmishers are worked into the overall combat resolution, so no need to field them.

It is called "Grandeur" "Impetus in the Age of napoleon." It's a free .pdf download from the Impetus site, whenever it comes back online. It shouldn't be much longer.

FWIW, I've been working on a further mod to use the Impetus engine/system for the ACW period. Still in the works, but it will be similar to "Grandeur" in it's scope.

Baroque is still being play tested as far as I am aware

I imagine it won't be down for too long. I need to get some stuff too. Their skirmish rules are also quite good.

I plan to put online the website in 48h, but much doesn't depend on me.

Skirmish rules and pdf are mostly on Wargames Vault.

If you need to place an order for printed versions just write me at losart@libero.it

With Baroque we are making the final tests. Once fixed it will be translated into English and I plan to release by October.
