Hello there Are Foundry's Medieval Warfare rules suitable for the Italian Wars? Plus would I have to rebase from DBR? Almost forgot, are they a decent set of rules? |

Nope, you don't have to rebase from DBR. The basing system is by multi-figure stands. Heavy formed foot are mounted 4 to a base, while loose are 3 and skirmish are 2 (there is a loose 4 per base troop types as well). The rules give three different distances based on base width. The standard rules use 40mm wide bases (but cover anywhere from 30mm to 75mm wide) I don't feel the depth matters like it does in DBR, so I think you would be okay to use MW. The rules have a lot of coverage of the WotR period as well as the Ordonance French and Burgundian. So if you are doing Pavia era I think you would be okay to use the rules. Are they decent rules, I think so but I don't know what you like so can't comment on if you would like them. Chris |
