Very tempted to go this route for ancient gaming. I have few fond memories of any of the DBx stuff and the tiny army scale unless its done in 6mm is not our cup of tea. (although 6mm may be) So I'm really interested in reading more AAR's from MoA games, any links to any or recent games not yet posted? |

Mike H has done several on the Yahoo group and should be along here shortly with an observation. He does MoA only for Ancients. VR James Mattes |

Here's one I posted earlier this week: All, Last nights game was a typical Roman Civil War action with Caesar and Pompey leading the way. This wasn't a big action game as planned, but there was enough lead on the table for all players. The unique units on the table were the variety of artillery pieces, a total of six. I used a car window visor over the center of the table for each team to ecretly place their units. I seen this before on-line, and wanted to take crack at it. It worked well. Even though Caesar was outnumber, his battle harden troops won the initiative 90% of the time. Pompey had Spanish support on the right with his artillery units in the middle surrounded by Roman cohorts. Caesar had a similar setup, with the exception of two Germanic units on the flanks. They were also rated fierce. Besides all the artillery action, the first melee came between the Cretan Archers and the Spanish Caetrari on the right flank. After heavy loses, the Spanish broke, making a hole for the German unit to break through. After a few turns, Pompey's right flank broke. Pompey personally lead his last fresh unit into action, until a "1" was rolled, wounding him and making leave the field. His left flank was still locked up into melee. It would be a matter of a few turns before the whole army would route. This will go down as a Caesar victory. Pics of the battle can be seen here: link 20Jul/ Enjoy. Greg P. |

I don't have any AARs on tap, but as mentioned, the Yahoo group will have plenty (and is a great bunch, besides). The rules are excellent, and work wonderfully well with 6mm on 15mm or 25mm bases. The mini-MoA optional rule is also worth looking into as you build up army sizes from DBx levels. Doug |
