A nice, balanced review. I agree it's WRG-Lite.

Lite implies something is missing. The only thing missing is over complex mechanisms and shoddy English run-on sentences. With the rules revisions on the website, I would have to say the rules are more "buttoned down". Always enjoyed the rules and am happy to see they are improved. Nice review.

MOA is a very good set of ancients rules, we played them for years here but lack of other players (and advent of DBM) stopped us playing them. Pity as they were a fun set. Somewhat generic army lists its main weakness in some ways.

Dont about WRG-lite so much as WRG-Playable :-)

Cheers

I enjoy Might of Arms. I agree with others -- MoA is WRG minus the fiddly-broken bits, and with some nice new twists.
Additionally, you get a clear conclusion, instead of we're out of time and I think that . . . .

I like MOA – one problem is that a run of bad morale rolls can see your force light out for the provinces. Aside from that it's fine.

well that only took 15 years!

Well well well

Never mind the Rehashed Rules Ltd recently released sets, as one who still plays 6th but eschewed 7th+, this could be just the sort of rule set that we need!! It might even be coplete from the look of it. And for £12.00 GBP I dont mind buying a set to find out.

When do you think 2nd Ed will be released, though? :o)

I can't say for certain. The yahoo group does have one version of the new QRS for the 2nd edition. Mostly subtle changes so far.
