Well, I was at Salute today and you know how it is with cash burning a hole in your pocket
Anyway, I bought a copy of Crusader. At £5.00 GBP (special show price) you can't really say no (only a bit more expensive than a glossy mag). I was a bit disparaging about these rules at first on the other thread here, but having had a quick first read through, I take it back and would say that I think these are a neat set of rules. The eye candy is nice and I also liked the fact that there were example games illustrated and a scenario for Hastings. The rules themselves seem reasonably solid, although I'll have to give them a go before I can really tell. Good too that the author is not too specific about what size of figures to use. He uses 25mm but it is obvious that the mechanisms will work for any size because they are stand based – the number of figures on a base is not important. So an initially favourable impression. Thanks Crusader! |

I got two copies of theses rules for someone else and have now posted them off. I regret not having even a cursory look through them at the time because if I had done so I would have bought myself a copy! They looked pretty simple and will I think tempt a few WAB gamers who are fed up throwing bucketloads of dice. The photographs are excellent and the book is worth a fiver just as inspirational eye candy. |
