Husaria

These are a set of wargames rules specifically designed for recreating tabletop battles using the armies that marched across Eastern Europe from the latter half of the 16th century to the end of the 17th century. This was a period of history that saw the rise of Poland-Lithuania as a great power, the turning of the tide of the Ottoman advance into Europe, and the golden age of the Cossacks. Within this time and space, the march of the ‘military revolution’ seems to have stalled – the art of war in the East differed greatly from that of the West. Cavalry charged home with the lance, infantry were unable to dominate the battlefield, and sieges were few and far between. The rulebook consists of 28 pages of rules, 23 pages of army lists and 13 pages of notes on historical battles and commanders.
