no picture | Cel-Vinyls Paint (Cartoon Color Company) |
Oriented towards animators. Extensive line of many colors, none specifically intended for the military, fantasy or science fiction gamer. Used to paint the back of animation cels, and so are flexible, durable, and opaque. Come in 2 oz. plastic bottles. Have a pretty good shelf life. The only down side is that they don't blend like an oil or acylic paint. The secret is to layer them to achieve highlighting effects. This paint dries quickly, so you have to mix on the palette and keep them damp in order to work for any amount of time. Flow enhancer or acrylic extender/medium can be used to slow the drying time, and aids in mixing. Paint remains somewhat flexible when dry, and so works well on soft plastic figures (doesn't flake off). This paint can be thined with water, and cleans up with water. Available through art supply stores. |
