Well, that was pretty close. You need to toss in magic. It's pretty simple and definitely brings a lot more to the game. MA is a great set to start with. Tossing in some abilities will also broaden her horizons.

Thanks,

John

The Orcs have a shaman available, but the campaign system hasn't given him an outing yet.

He's just trying to sucker her in to playing for money. :)

Hey Bill. You are using 2nd edition, correct? I think I would teach her the basic rules along with magic and abilities then start a campaign. You will get a lot more out of MA that way. Otherwise it is pretty basic.

Using first edition at the moment, as I haven't familiarized myself with 2nd edition (though we both have it). Both armies have some abilities, and the Orcs have magic if/when their shaman(s) is available. And we're playing a campaign.

Also, "pretty basic" is about what Julia needs at this stage! I don't want to confuse her with lots of details.

Why not go ahead and dump first? 2nd is a much better set and since nobody plays 1st you'll both be grounded in those basic rules. I own and have played both quite a bit. Those Orcs look familiar. Are those the ones I did?

Thanks,

John

Will as soon as I get a chance to skim through 2nd edition. grin

This is your original Orc army, plus another boxed set painted by Fernando to match, then I came in and added a few touches to make the figures blend better, and then everything was rebased.

Just come across this and it looks fun. Where are the figures you use from? They look 6mm but I could be wrong.

Cheers,

B

They're 15mm Mighty Armies from Rebel, I believe:
