It's spelt Kokoda!!!!!! And it was a track.

Other than that terrible mistake, I really like the article.

Boy, I haven't used felt for years. There are a lot of other ways to represent roads and water that look a lot better. Inexpensive too. Con games should try and look a little nicer, IMHO.

Thanks,

John

If you haven't got anything nice to say……

As if that ever happens here………..:-D

The report was good. It looked like a fun game. My point was more about the asthetics. I just believe a a show you should try and do a little more. Felt isn't a terrible material. It can be modified or used in conjunction with other materials to look pretty nice. My buddies and I have done that. Just takes a game to the next level with pretty minimal effort.

Thanks,

John

What rules did you use?

I don't remember anything about the rules, except there were cards for our units…

What rules did you use?

If the cards in the picture are an indicator, it was Battlefront WW II

You can use spray paint or fabric paint on felt to break up the sameness. You can glue flock or similar to the edges while painting parts of the middle to make it look like wheel tracks. Admitedly using felt as water is a tougher task. You could airbrush the felt too. Several basic things that will really alter the look for the better.

I use homemade caulk roads. I have taken drawer liner material (it's white, vinly and pebbely) for my water features. You cut it out in the shape you want. Spray paint white or blue. Paint acrylics over it. Seal with satin varnish. I then glue ballast or flock to the sides.

Looks pretty good and the cost is about 10 dollars for 10+ feet.

Thanks,

John

Oh, some folks use ink instead of paint on the roads.

Thanks,

John

Loved the report up until "Commonwealth" troops kept getting used. They were Australians, there were no Poms, Indians, Kiwis, South Africans or Canadians there.

Looks like a good game, and the converging tracks gives a good feel of for the campaign.

…it was Battlefront WW II

I believe you are correct.
