Great to see another one of these. There were actually three made by Ian in and around 1986. I know because I own one of them! :)

It was mine that appeared in Ian's book. I went to see him at his home The Old Anchor of Hope on many occassions and we photographed it together. I still have the model and the book which he kindly autographed for me. He was a true gentleman and still sadly missed.

This model is especially impressive considering when it was made -- a lot of new research has been done and published on how the Alamo looked in 1836 since this model was made, in the sesquicentennial year, yet this model is commendably accurate in most important aspects.

I remember wishing I own lots of Ian Weekly models, a great hobby figure of my youth.

You should see Larry Reber's(Gettysburg Soldiers) 15mm scale version(last I heard, at the Texas state capitol in Austin)

I believe my clubmate in S. Fl. was the lucky winner of this awesome set. Or should I say our club are the lucky recipients to have this awesome set in our club collections! In fact our club member Bill is planning to run a game with it this month using the TSATF variant The Sword gone to Texas.
I'll post an AAR on my blog of the game.

Combat Painter, that's a mighty fine model my friend! It's been a long time since we've seen you in FLA buddy…

Cheers,
JB

I had the Alamo Chapel made for me by Ian Weekley, back in 1986,it was to be the start of the whole Alamo, but could not afford to go any further with it. I do remember it was a lovely piece of work.
