She obviously knows a million times more about computers than I do (as does almost everyone). If you do decide to have a world wargame reporter, I will carry their bags, whomever that might be. |

From your description, Bill, she's smart, ambitious, curious, hard working, and already a day ahead of most of us
she'll catch on nicely. Julia, maybe you can solve the "Ophra" bug once and for all ; -) |

Julia also dreams of being a TMP correspondent to wargaming shows around the world (is that in the budget?). The news end of the site could badly use some roving correspondents, although it might be less expensive to call for volunteer tryouts. Plenty of TMP members go to cons and write threads about their show experiences – formalizing the process with a bullpen producing actual news stories (or a new "convention report" feature, even) would be a step forward. |

WWPD folks had something of a formal presence at Historicon. Only Bill can speak to the budget, but I would think it would be worth the investment for her to see Salute and Historicon |

And the big bonus to the community when people ask if "hot" girls really do play with little toys like we do, we can say YES

Great step forward. It sounds like she will be a great help to TMP and all of us Wargammers around the world. Welcome aboard Julia. Hope everything goes smoothly for you and the rewards outweigh the labor. |

I will confess
. I am glad that Bill has someone helping him
I do hope that Julia works out in the long run and that the idea of helping run a site that is mainly populated by guys who play with little toy soldiers, doesn't make her run screaming off into the night
. However
I will also admit that the title of this latest bit
"The Training of Julia"
well
.um
..errr
.I'll just say that "other things" came to my mind
. Bartender

This has been pointed out to me in another discussion, and the title has been changed on the original article, and will update on the homepage on the hour. (But it's too late to change it on the Profile Talk forum
) |

Bill? You did not ask me about this one. You should have had ask me that you are going to put an article about me again. Well, anyway, thank you for the wishes of all wargamers especially to my boss "Bill". Thank you so much. I do also wish you to have more patience. Asking me about how do I think about you guys? Aside from being cool (it's common with the guys) you wargamers are so weird and old really. We people here in PI don't play board games anymore, all are online, even a 5 years old kid. Maybe because we are from the future. Always a day ahead of you. Will use this message to thanks all those people who leave there advice on my article "Falling in Love within a First Date". We are still communicating but I am not trying hard to have him. He is so high to reach. He is "free" to do everything. But I like him. hahahahahhaha. Cheers! Julia
Bill: It's weekend. Send me someone to talk to since you are not around. |

I Agree with Murphy in that it is great Bill has someone tech savy to help him. Taking care of this site is a lot of work. That Julia is young, smart and attractive helps the users of this site to accept her. I feel most of us agree it would be a bonus for all of us if Julia stays with Bill for some time. Cheers Julia! |

New Editor, who as I understand it from my friend who was recently at the Philippines, has a great grasp of English, only some minor errors. Also, Julia, we are not all that old. I'm 29 and have been wargaming since I was about 15. I will admit though that TMP does tend to cater towards the older group. |

One thing I forgot to mention is that it's quite a shift for me, to go from working "alone" on TMP for 19 years (!), to having a co-worker. Fortunately, Julia is tolerating me well. (I just realized – Julia is barely older than TMP itself! That makes me feel so old
) The best thing about working with Julia is her sense of humor. She really cracks me up sometimes

Bill, the Filipino people are some of the nicest, kindest most respectful people you will ever meet, and great to work with. Great family culture and values. And yes, she is correct, everyone in her country is tech savy. I believe they hold the record for most texting country, and even the people begging have cell phones. |

I remember when over thirty was old. I think this is Julia's perspective. She doesn't see all the tweens and teenagers in this country that pick up miniature gaming everyday. I suspect that income has a lot to do with the shift to online gaming over your way, Julia. A lot cheaper to use your existing online device to get to all of the old board games that are very much free online. Also, I can think of many games that are much cheaper in the software version vs. traditional versions. Bill, what might be interesting is if she does travel in and outside of the Philippines to areas such as Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries where there is a miniature gaming community and related cottage industries. Bill, I am surprised you haven't started your own figure painting business with all of the relatives you have over there :-) |

I'd say that displays excellent taste, but I'm admittedly biased. My gal's a prize too, although she got a good laugh out of "most respectful" there. |

Bill, what might be interesting is if she does travel in and outside of the Philippines to areas such as Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries where there is a miniature gaming community and related cottage industries. The picture shows above was taken in Bangkok, Thailand. I've been to Singapore too. Two countries for now and I do always dream to see more. I do always love to travel, learning new culture, foods and way of living. Bill, the Filipino people are some of the nicest, kindest most respectful people you will ever meet, and great to work with. I've been to quite a few Asian countries – Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and everyone is pretty nice, but the nicest people always were the ones in Phili. Unless it is a holiday, and you are in Manilla..then lookout as everyone is in a hurry!! LOL

True enough, although that was quite a few years back now. I remember being favorably impressed, but I doubt I'd recognize her on first sight at this point. My aging brain cells are too jammed with game rules and random trivia for comfort. |
