Paul Glasser writes:

The enemy in front of me advanced immediately, but was out of range and unable to fire. However, my 6lb guns were able to engage the enemy, annihilating an entire platoon in a barrage of high-explosive rounds. The survivors failed a morale test and were routed.

The initial devastation shocked my opponent, who would remain overly cautious for the rest of the game.

On the right flank, the Italian infantry advanced and artillery laid a barrage of fire on the left flank of the Indian defenders. He scored five hits, but failed the firepower check on all but two, resulting in only a few casualties.

With fewer units to control and less dice to roll, action on our part of the board was brief. We spent most of the time waiting for the commanders in the main battle to resolve their actions.
