Bayou Wars 2006: Fantasy Rules!

doc mcb writes:

Thanks for the write up, Bill. It was a fun game. I've always enjoyed FR!. Writing PRIDE OF LIONS was not based on any fundamental unhappiness with FR, but from a desire to move fewer but larger units, keeping the look of a big game while reducing command choices to a manageable number. And I just like hidden order chits and simultaneous movement.

We won't be able to make Bayou Wars this year -- we did Nashcon instead -- but it was a great convention.

Right flank

Back on the right flank, I've fought my way back out of the river again...

The center

...while in the center, the lines are rotating around each other...

Left flank

...but the left flank has broken open! My centaurs break the unit they were fighting, then charge into the bearmen unit behind it, wiping that unit out as well!

That's the game!

I've won, which is always nice - but I've also enjoyed playing with some fantasy armies that aren't the "same old, same old" forces. The 15mm figures used are primarily from Splintered Light Miniatures, but with a smattering of other figures from a wide variety of sources.
