Paul Glasser writes:

The USS San Francisco and USS Laffey will also be a good addition to any U.S. fleet. As a flotilla leader, the San Francisco gains a +1 initiative bonus for every destroyer in your fleet. It also has good armor and good attack values.

The Laffey is an excellent complement to the San Francisco, with good AA defense abilities and torpedo attacks. It's also a good scout ship and very robust.

Task Force also introduces Japanese Kamikaze fighters. They're cheap and unreliable, but a swarm of Kamizakes could overwhelm an isolated unit, like a lone destroyer or cruiser.

A number of other units help round-out the various navies, including the Graf Zepplin and Bf109 for Germany, and the improved F6F Hellcat and TBF Avenger for the Americans.
