Let's open the box on the Armoured Panzergrenadier Company HQ.

Armoured Panzergrenadier Company HQ

The box tells us that this is for Flames of War, German, Late-War, with one vehicle and two infantry teams.

The back of the box explains this is a 1:100 scale set, all-plastic, fielding one Sd Kfx 251 (MG) and two MP40 SMG teams. It also says the box contains one half-track, one crew sprue, two SMG teams, and four Unit Cards. On the box front, side and back, we get several pictures of the finished models, but these are copies of the same three pics – no variety in angle. (You can see more photos on the company website, though.)

Opening the box (and removing a piece of bubblewrap), we find five plastic sprues, one bag of bases, and one bag of cards.

The halftrack comes on two yellow sprues (though the company website shows them combined as one sprue). Assembly instructions are provided on the company website as well (though in gray plastic). The parts are upper and lower hull, interior hull, back doors, front axle, wheels, tracks, gunshield with choice of MG34 or MG42, and rear-mounted AAMG. Extra parts (including an alternate track set) are not used for this model.

Three plastic infantry sprues are in the box. One (BM021) provides halftrack crew: officer, driver, machinegunner, two seated passengers. The online assembly guide shows possible placements.

Also provided are two identical German Grenadier HQ/Command and Weapons sprues (BM032), providing two officers, an NCO, radioman, and Panzerschreck gunner and loader. The online assembly guide identifies the figures, and a color-code guide shows which figures are used (depending on whether you are fielding the SMG team or paying extra points to make SMG/panzerfaust teams). However, due to an error in the guide, the panzerfaust figure is not identified (and the set comes with panzerschreck teams, not panzerfausts). Photos show a panzerfaust figure, but the set does not include this figure.

Two brown, three-hole, "small" plastic bases are provided.

Four cards are provided: double-sized D-Day German Force Card, Armoured Panzergrenadier Company HQ, Panzergrenadier Company HQ, and Sd Kfz 251 Half-track Transport.

If I am reading the cards right, you're not allowed to upgrade the HQ halftrack to the 3.7cm version, and it doesn't matter stats-wise if you build it with the MG34 or the MG42.

Decals shown in the photos are not provided.
