Our exploration of AI continues with the four most recent TMP theme songs.

TMP Theme Song #17

This was "in the style of Elton John."

Not what I was hoping for, but it's not bad.

TMP Theme Song #18

The request this time was for something "in the style of Peter, Paul & Mary."

Does it sound exactly like Peter, Paul and Mary? No. Is it amazingly close? I think so. The AI even catches some of their affectations, such as repeating a word for emphasis. I wasn't sure the AI could replicate the sound of a singing group, as opposed to an individual singer.

TMP Theme Song #19

In the style of Meat Loaf.

I had a song that I liked, but eventually noticed there were flaws, so I generated a replacement. Which led to this song:

Theme Song #19

Not bad.

TMP Theme Song #20

As an experiment, I decided to request a song based on a 'one-hit wonder'. I wondered if the AI would have enough data to do the imitation.

I asked for "in the style of Tie Me Kangaroon Down, Sport by Rolf Harris."

I suppose that answered the question: No. Although I created this song through Deep Dream Generator, where the interface doesn't reveal if the artist is in the AI's musical tags system. I'll have to try again someday, using Sonauto directly.

Pleasant song. Anyone recognize the influences?

And The Winner Is…

If I had to pick a favorite for the week… I'm a huge fan of Peter, Paul and Mary, so I'm picking #18!
