Hi! I am the newest editor at TMP. Let me introduce myself and tell you a little story about my life.
I'm 28 years old. I am the eldest child of my parents. My mom and dad separated when I was six years old. My dad passed away in November 2012. My mom remarried, but my stepfather was abusive, so I moved out. That's why I grew up with my grandparents and my sister here in Calbayog City, Western Samar, Philippines.
I'm the breadwinner of the family, the one who's supporting my grandparents and my little sister. That's why I am doing my best in everything that I do, because it's not only for myself, but most specially for them. Here is a photo of me with my grandmother, sister and my nephew (my grandfather is shy to be on camera):
Here are more photos of the whole family. We love to get together if there's a special occassion. Even if it is just a small celebration, it is special when you are together with your family.
Here is the photo of our house that was destroyed by the typhoon last year:
This is the house where we are currently living. It's not done yet – we don't have a kitchen, we just have a small area outside the house where we cook. We just have two rooms and a living area in the house. The bathroom is separated from the house, and the roof was destroyed by the typhoon, so when it is raining and you need to use the bathroom, you need to bring an umbrella!
This photo shows outside our house. When you go to the street, you can see the cemetery right away, just 10 to 15 steps from the house.
My work here is doing hair, but because of the pandemic, I don't have that much work. In this picture, you can see me working:
Another source of income for me are beauty pageants, but when this pandemic started, all of the pageants were canceled.
I also worked in a call center for a car-rental company, but it was too far from my family so I had to quit.
Whenever I have free time or I'm not doing anything, I am helping my nephews and nieces with their lessons, since they are studying at home due to the pandemic.
My nephews and nieces are so sweet to me, they call me 'mommy'. Especially the youngest, who always runs to me, knocks on my door, waking me up and asking me to buy bread. He loves hugging and kissing me.
I'm happy to be part of TMP now, since it is so hard to earn money during the pandemic. I'm new here, but I have been working with Bill for many years on various internet projects.
Life has been very challenging in this time of pandemic. We were facing a lot, my grandmother has been suffering from illness. We've even experienced hunger a lot of times. Despite of all these challenges, we are not losing hope that one day, everything will be OK. I am so thankful to be part of TMP, because it is a company that is so fun to work for, and a boss that is amazing to work with. Thank you so much, TMP, for allowing me to be part of this amazing company.
