Mal Wright Fezian writes:

Back at my stall, the customers were still coming and going, but nothing very exciting in the way of sales. Looking about the hall, one could see much the same reaction everywhere, and as time ticked toward midday, gamers started to congregate around the MilSims auction area. Then it was on!

The auction!

With a shout and some give-aways thrown to outstretched hands, the auction was on. For an hour, voices rose and sank, rose and sank. Half the people present seemed gathered in the same area. Then it was over, and the expected rush happened as it always does. Gamers who had not spent their money at the auction surged off to the other stalls, and for the next hour, sales were very brisk. Once this started to die down, traders commenced to pack and we did the same.

We did get a bit unstuck on leaving the hall. I'm still not sure how, but we wasted an hour visiting parts of Canberra I've never heard of. Eventually recognizing where we were, we made our way back to the road past the hall, and left via a route we were more familiar with. As a 'grid' city person, I should have known better than to go for a shortcut in our Capital city. Oh well, another story for one's memories.
