For the second time in this campaign, I defeated Bill's Dwarves. It was a great game!
As usual, we played virtually. The Dwarves are invading the Orcs homeland (my side). After two initial battles, we are meeting again in a 30 points versus 30 points battle. There are woods on one side of the battlefield, and a river and some large rocks on the other side.
The Dwarves won the dieroll, so I had to set my forces up first. I grouped all of my Orcs into a battleline, with the archers in the front, and my Warlord in the back together with the Shaman. (This was the first time I got to use a Shaman.)
The Dwarves formed a smaller battleline between the woods and the rocks, with their King and some warriors. A unit of Rangers was placed into the rock field.
The Dwarves won the dieroll for first move, and advanced. On my turn, I advanced my three Orc Archers into range of the Dwarf Rangers.
Lucky shot! I killed the Rangers on my first dieroll, and their saving roll didn't help them. Now it should be very easy for me to win. The Dwarves have no archers left!
The Dwarves advanced again on their turn.
My archers fired. One Dwarf Warrior unit was killed.
The Dwarves advanced again, hoping to get into close combat, but they weren't close enough!
My archers fired again, and my dice were hot. The game was over.
The Dwarves did not kill even one of my Orc units. It is one of the sweetest victories ever.
